Tenacious Reid

I've been a bad blogger with Reid. When Evan was 2, I blogged non-stop about the new things he was doing, what he was saying, where we were going, etc.  So, here is a list of stuff Reidy does:

*his vocabulary is coming along. He definitely speaks "two year old". His words haven't quite caught up with his emotions, so that's where some of the fits come from. He says mama, dad, come on, aye (Evan), bye, mo-mo (which could mean Nemo, Elmo, or Mickey Mouse), show, cookie, yo yo (yogurt), cheese, Mimi, papa, Ti, Sti (Steve), wawa (grandma) & lots of other words. Much of it is still jabber. :)
*he doesn't eat much. He likes yogurt, cookies, crackers, mac 'n cheese, milk, peanut butter, ice cream, & donuts. Everything else he will ignore- his tenacity will serve him well some day. Right now it earns him the nickname of Hunger Strike.
*he gave up on his crib and his booster seat at the table last spring. He also scaled the baby gate so often that we took it down because we didn't want him to get hurt.  We think its because he sees Evan not using them & by golly, he's big too. (He actually said, "I not a baby, mama." A few weeks ago). Because he's done this- bedtime & dinner have been interesting. We made him get into a booster when we had friends over for dinner this summer. He howled for a long time. I finally told Evan to go rescue him. (I couldn't do it- he didn't need to know he'd won the battle)
*he loves to empty things & leave a trail. I think of Willa jean from the Ramona & Beezus books. I think she did that to Howie's stuff at some point.
* he loves his mama whole heartedly. He is just now leaving the mama phase. He would cry and cry if I wasn't around. He did great at the sitter's, but any other time it was mama time.
*he loves wrestling & playing with Mike & Ev. He definitely sees himself as one of the dudes & enjoys man time with them.
*he has a best friend at the sitter's. Her name is Amelia (ya ya). They chat a lot.
* he tells us when he needs a new diaper. He'll say, "poo" for everything. He's not ready for the potty yet though. Maybe in another couple of months we'll try. I asked him if he was going to go potty like a big boy. "No way!" was his response.
*he is picky about his clothes. He prefers Toy Story, McQueen, or Thomas clothes above all.
*he is the sweetest thing that loves to FaceTime, blow kisses, be held, fall asleep on you, giggle, and sit on your lap while watching cartoons.
